This area is being built to accommodate the Vision 2040 agenda, which requires doubling the city's population. It sits in close proximity to the heritage and commercial urban sectors, which currently house 65% of the population and 75% of businesses. By bridging the gap between the established business hubs and the new tourism zones, the government is replicating the success of the original tourism hubs (Marina and JBR) but on a much larger and more efficient scale.
