    Must a project be registered before a broker can market it?

    A broker is strictly prohibited from marketing any real estate project that is not yet registered with the DLD. If a developer wishes to use a broker for marketing, they must first ensure the project is officially recorded and then conclude a marketing agreement with an approved, licensed broker. This agreement must also be registered with the department. These steps are mandatory to protect the public from "phantom" projects and ensure that all off-plan marketing is conducted by authorised professionals.
