Does a lease contract expire if the Landlord or Tenant dies?

A Lease Contract does not expire solely because of the death of the Landlord or the Tenant. Instead, the contractual relationship and all its associated rights and obligations continue with the heirs. However, the Tenant's heirs have the option to terminate the lease if they wish. In such a case, the termination becomes effective at least thirty (30) days after notifying the Landlord of their intent, or upon the natural expiry of the contract, whichever comes first. This provides continuity and protection for families and estates.
