Are JOP dispositions effective if an owner is in debt?

    Ali Faizan Syed1 min read0 viewsUpdated 1/2/2026
Under Law No. (7) of 2019, property dispositions that create real property rights and are recorded in the DLD register are deemed effective against all persons. This applies even if the owner undertaking the disposition is indebted to a third party. This rule protects persons acting in good faith, such as a buyer who was unaware of the seller's personal debts. However, the disposition can be challenged if it is proven that it was specifically intended to be detrimental to the rights of the third-party creditor.
