What happens if a developer misses the completion deadline?

While the developer has rights if a purchaser defaults, the purchaser also has protections if the developer fails to implement the project. A purchaser can resort to the competent court to seek termination of their relationship if the developer is proven to be negligent or omitted their duties. Grounds for this include delays in starting construction or failing to link purchaser payments to construction milestones as proposed by RERA. This maintains a balance of power between both parties.
