When is eviction allowed due to urban development requirements?

A landlord may seek eviction if competent Government entities decide that the property must be demolished and reconstructed for urban development. This ground for eviction is only applicable upon the expiry of the Lease Contract. The landlord is legally required to notify the tenant of these reasons at least twelve (12) months before the intended eviction date. This long notice period provides the tenant with sufficient time to relocate when their displacement is caused by wider city planning initiatives.
