    What happens to a subtenant if the primary JOP lease is terminated?

    If a court or the RDSC issues an award to terminate a primary lease while the property is occupied by a subtenant, the subtenant may sometimes be allowed to stay. This applies only if the sublease contract was approved by the landlord. In such cases, the subtenant is permitted to continue occupying the property under the specific terms of their existing sublease contract. this rule protects subtenants from being penalized for a breach of contract or an agreement to terminate made between the landlord and the primary tenant.
