What happens if a tenant fails to vacate after a twelve-month notice for sale?

If a tenant fails to vacate after the twelve (12) month notice for the owner's wish to sell, the landlord can file an eviction claim at the RDSC. Provided the notice was served via Notary Public and the landlord proved the reason for eviction, the tribunal will issue an award for vacating the property. This award is then enforced by the Judgment Enforcement Directorate. The tenant may also be liable for court costs and legal fees incurred by the landlord during the enforcement process.
