What happens if a developer fails to register an off-plan sale within the deadline?

Developers who disposed of units before the implementation of Law No. (13) of 2008 were required to register them within sixty days. If a developer submits an application for registration after this legal time limit has expired, the DLD will still register the disposition in the Interim Real Property Register. However, the DLD is mandated to impose a fine of ten thousand Dirhams (AED 10,000.00) on the developer for this delay. This penalty encourages timely registration to ensure the integrity of the property record.
