What happens if a co-owner fails to finalize a pre-emption purchase?

Under Article (15) of Law No. (6) of 2019, once a co-owner agrees to a pre-emption purchase, they must notify their intention through a notary public. They are then required to finalise the sale procedures with the DLD within ten (10) working days of the notice period's expiry. If they fail to meet this strict deadline, they forfeit their right to purchase the share. This ensures that property sales are not held up by co-owners who are unable or unwilling to complete the transaction.
