What can a Tenant do if a Landlord disconnects their utilities?

A Landlord is strictly forbidden from disconnecting servicessuch as water or electricityor disturbing the Tenant's use of the property. If this occurs, the Tenant should immediately go to the local police station to seek a remedy or file an official report. Furthermore, the Tenant can file a claim at the Rental Disputes Settlement Centre (RDSC) for compensation for any damages sustained. Using official police reports as evidence, the Tenant can hold the Landlord accountable for this illegal and disruptive breach of duty.
