How often can a Landlord increase the Rent for a property?

According to Law No. (26) of 2007, Rent cannot be increased before the lapse of two (2) years from the date the contractual relationship was first established. After this period, any increase must comply with the criteria set by RERA and the prevailing economic situation in Dubai. The law grants RERA the authority to establish the maximum percentage of increase allowed. This regulation prevents frequent and arbitrary price hikes, providing Tenants with financial predictability while allowing Landlords to adjust to market conditions eventually.
