    Can Common Parts be converted into private property?

    Common Parts are strictly protected and may not be converted into private property, subdivided, or disposed of independently from the units they pertain to. Any such change requires the prior approval of both the DLD and the Competent Authority. This protection remains in effect even while a building is under construction. The Director General of the DLD is responsible for issuing resolutions that dictate how any proceeds generated from a legally approved conversion or subdivision of such shared spaces must be used.
