Are there rules for using computers to record property data?

The DLD is explicitly authorised to prescribe rules for using computers for storing and recording real property data. Law No. (7) of 2006 confirms that all documents and instruments electronically stored in these computers have the same evidentiary value as original paper records. This legal foundation supports Dubai's move toward a fully digital registration system, allowing for the issuance of electronic title deeds and digital mortgage certificates that are just as binding as traditional documents.
