    Are Subtenants protected if the primary lease is terminated?

    If the tribunal terminates a primary lease while a Subtenant is in occupation, the Subtenant may be allowed to stay. This protection only applies if the sublease contract was approved by the Landlord. In these cases, the Subtenant can continue to occupy the property under the existing terms of their sublease. This rule prevents authorised Subtenants from being unfairly penalised or displaced due to a dispute or agreement between the Landlord and the primary Tenant, maintaining their housing security.
